"This album tells stories through the lens of hindsight, regret, and reflection," Lucas explains. Themes include celebrating life in the face of death, fearing love, and masking depression. Inspired by a 1930s song recorded by Dame Gracie Fields and later covered by Lucas' great uncle, the album closes with a heartfelt homage. Holding Absence-Lucas, bassist James Joseph, and drummer Ashley Green-infuse the record with contemplative spirit.
